Wire Fencing

If you are looking for a more basic fence you can use wire fencing.  Wire is one of the best ways to keep animals and intruders out of your garden.  Wire fencing can be turned into part of the garden by having plants that climb and will cling to the wire fence making it look stunning.  Wire fencing allows the most amount of sunlight and air to get into your garden but does not allow very much privacy.

Similar to wire fencing is chain link fence.  Chain link fencing is made of steel wires or galvanized wires.  The wires go in a zigzag pattern that also allows for optimal air and sunlight.  Plants can also climb up chain link fence that can add to the beauty of your fence.  There is minimal maintenance and is easy to repair.

Picket Fencing Ideally for Homes

picket fencingIf you want to have beautiful fence installed on your home and still have an effective boundary and keep pets and children in, then it is only natural that you install picket fencing. Picket fencing is an all time standard fence that has been used by most families because of the number of customization possibilities it presents. You can paint it with any color that will accentuate your house or you can leave it in plain white and it will still look beautiful. Here are the steps to install a picket fence on your lawn or backyard.

First before you start mapping or digging, you should visit your local hardware store or specialty shop and buy the applicable picket fences. There are a number of picket fencing designs, heights, and sizes that you could choose from. They are pre-assembled and packaged complete with everything that you’ll need. And while you’re at it, you might consider buying colored paint for the finishing touches.

Set some markers on the corners of the area that you want covered, this could be wooden stakes or posts and tie a string around the area going around the posts. After securing the boundary you can then start digging the first post hole. Remember that the post holes need to be deep so the posts won’t fall down no matter how much force it receives. The difficulty depends on the hardness of the soil and the height of the post, so you can manually dig the holes or consider renting post hole digger. Set the posts on the holes making sure that they are firmly covered with soil and gravel, or even cement if you have enough funds. Then attach the fence panels to each post and finally attach the gate. Picket fencing allows you to customize them without much effort, so you can have them plain or colored to your preference.
